Scam targeting Habersham EMC members

Habersham EMC is warning customers about a scam. The electric company said in a press release that customers are receiving phone calls stating their power is going to be disconnected unless they make a payment over the phone or all a number that is provided.

If an HEMC customer receives this call, they should hang up the phone and report the call to local law enforcement. Customers are advised to not give out any personal information.
