All ages are invited to Touch-A-Truck: A Family Safety, Health & Preparedness Fair on the Sautee Nacoochee Center campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2.
This free, family-friendly event will feature displays of multiple specialty emergency vehicles, a helicopter fly-in, family support resources and visits by Smokey Bear, the Night Rider Car, Wonder Woman and Batman, children’s activities, an ice cream party and more!
• Career and volunteer first responders will be on hand to talk about their work and equipment and spread the word about safety and emergency preparedness.
• White County Public Health and Public Safety, Georgia Forestry Commission, and area support service providers will answer questions and offer information.
• The Public Health Breast Cancer Awareness Program will be on campus recognizing October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Touch-A-Truck is co-organized by the SNCA Board of Directors and the all-volunteer Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
“One of the goals of this program is to help children become comfortable with first responders and youth to think about safety and emergency preparedness in their community,” said SNC Executive Director Patrick Brennan.
Come honor first responders and spend a few hours having fun and learning about health, safety and emergency resources in our community.
