Early voting turnout low

by Noah Johnson White County News   The city of Helen and the White County Elections and Registration Office are ready for the municipal election coming up on Nov. 7. Only voters who live within the Helen city limits are allowed to participate in the election. Early voting began on Monday, Oct.

by Noah Johnson White County News   Halloween is just around the corner and White County is full of events for children, adults and the whole family. There will be plenty of options to choose from, as well as multiple days where families and friends can get in on the spooky fun.

‘We’ll get through it’

by Noah Johnson White County News   A couple in Cleveland escaped a residential fire in their home of four years on Thursday, Oct. 19, and another fire claimed a motorhome on Sunday, Oct. 22. The home of Clinton and Esther Mulkey caught fire around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Winning spirits

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   Cleveland will have its first three package stores as soon as possible. The three stores will be at 167 Kytle St., 262/272 S. Main St. and 897 S. Main St. The three were drawn in a lottery Oct. 19 after four applicants qualified.

Weekend features farm fun, duck race

City works to stop sawdust, noise issues

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   The turnip greens are ready. About 25 years ago, Charlie Thomas and Ray Black opened their field of turnips along Charlie Thomas Road for the public to pick their own at no charge.

Package store appeal fails

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   Tonight’s lottery to determine who may open a package store in Cleveland will have four applicants after a fifth applicant’s appeal was denied by the city’s Alcohol Review Board Monday night.
