Inmate dies at jail

by Noah Johnson White County News A White County inmate passed away while in custody at the White County Detention Center. On Thursday, Aug. 24 around 5:45 a.m. Charles Anthony McLeroy, 54 of Athens was found deceased in his bed by jail staff.

Helen has four candidates vying for two city commission seats — Mervin Barbree, Josh Garrison, Lee Landress and Randy Summers.
