Helen OKs new crosswalk

by Jessica Wood White County News   The Helen City Commission agreed to the construction of a new crosswalk at its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 21. The new crosswalk will be located on Edelweiss Strasse and will span from the entrance of the waterpark to the adjacent lot across the street.

Bowls fill for food pantry

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   The Sautee Nacoochee Center’s Community Hall quickly filled with people Monday for the center’s Empty Bowls lunch. The event raised over $3,200 for White County Food Pantry.
“I don’t think that we ought to change an R-1 to R-3 in any subdivision,” said Commissioner Terry Goodger. “It’s just wrong.”

White County Middle School Theater invites everyone to join Dorothy as she goes somewhere over the rainbow in a classic production of “The Wizard of Oz.” Based on the novel by L. Frank Baum, the production features music and lyrics from the original MGM Motion Picture Score by Harold Arlen and E.Y.
