Winter storms that wreaked havoc on Texas and other parts of country have also affected COVID-19 vaccination efforts in Georgia.
More COVID-19 mass vaccination clinics are planned to allow providers additional space to process more patients as supplies allow.
Confirmed COVID-19 cases have recently slowed in White County, but health officials continue to stress the need for safety measures as cases of a new variant of the virus spread in Georgia.
COVID-19 vaccine appointments remain limited, but some providers are encouraging residents to continue checking as more doses and personnel to administer them become available.

White County ended 2020 with 685 confirmed COVID-19 cases in December, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Jan. 5 status report.
The White County Health Department was flooded with appointment requests following an announcement late last week that Georgia would expand its list of people eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
White County School System announced this afternoon that due to a rise in coronavirus cases, classes will go virtual until Jan. 15.
This Georgia Department of Public Health map shows counties in red that have seen a greater than 5% increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases from the week of Dec. 5-11 to Dec. 12-18. White County is among them amid rising case counts in recent weeks.
