Bridging borders, bringing hope

Up, up and down

by Jessica Wood White County News   The 50th annual Helen to the Atlantic Balloon Race didn’t go exactly as planned this year. Unprecedented winds made any significant long-distance travel nearly impossible.

On hold: Planning board tables historic overlay

by Linda Erbele White County News   The White County Planning Commission voted to table proposed amendments to the White County Land Use Ordinance related to Historic Preservation at its meeting June 5.

Balloon race starts

Lift-off for the 50th Helen to the Atlantic Balloon Race was scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. today. Balloonists began the race at the launch field and will continue racing until the first person crosses Interstate 95.

Day trippers to impact tourism

Andy Negra celebrates 99 years

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   Andy Negra has three children, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. And, as of Sunday, he has lived 99 years. “I guess that’s a big number,” Negra said Sunday morning. “But for me it’s another day.

Commission hears pleas for historic overlay
