Early voting at a trickle for Cleveland and Helen elections

Five contested seats are on the ballot between Cleveland and Helen municipal elections, but early voting was off to a slow start about a week after it began.
As of 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, only 79 residents have early voted in the Cleveland election, about 3.

Water Authority approves higher merit pay for employees

The White County Water Authority has approved merit raises for its employees to help shore up its staffing.
The board approved 5-7% raises for all nine of its employees during a called meeting on Thursday, Oct. 14. The raise is effective immediately, said WCWA Executive Director Edwin Nix.

Cleveland early voting is set to start on Tuesday, Oct. 12, and continue on weekdays through Friday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cleveland City Hall. There also will be early voting on Saturday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct.
