The White County Water Authority has approved merit raises for its employees to help shore up its staffing. The board approved 5-7% raises for all nine of its employees during a called meeting on Thursday, Oct. 14. The raise is effective immediately, said WCWA Executive Director Edwin Nix.

Early voting has begun for the Cleveland and Helen municipal elections. Cleveland early voting is set to start on Tuesday, Oct. 12, and continue on weekdays through Friday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cleveland City Hall. There also will be early voting on Saturday, Oct. 16 and Saturday, Oct.
