Meet the school resource officers

The upcoming school year is bringing some new, and returning, faces to White County campuses as school resource officers (SRO). This year, all SROs are White County Sheriff’s Office deputies and will be covering all six of the system’s schools.

White County schools to welcome more than 4,100 students Friday

It’s that time. Classes are scheduled to resume Friday, Aug. 6, for 4,123 White County School System students.

White County Board of Education members pushed back last week against allegations that a critical race theory agenda is being promoted in schools.

The White County Board of Education plans to vote Thursday on lowering its millage rate. Finance Director Julie Dorsey told school board members at their July 27 meeting that they will be able to rollback the millage for this year from the current 17.
