Nunley retires after four decades

by Linda Erbele White County News   After almost four decades teaching English at Truett McConnell University, Dr. Connie Nunley is retiring. She was feted with a reception in April, will participate in assessments and graduation, but is anticipating grading that last paper.

Warriors at Work honors award winners

by Jessica Wood White County News   A 97-year-old veteran celebrated his birthday on Tuesday by zip lining at Nacoochee Adventures in Helen. Leon White of Clermont conquered “The Intimidator,” one of the longest dual zip lines in the country at a half mile long.

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   After taking three weeks to consider comments made during the second public hearing on April 10, the Cleveland City Council decided to move forward with the Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map Monday night.
The White County Commission approved a contract with an architect for the design of a two-court gymnasium at the Yonah Preserve baseball complex and a new library in Cleveland, on property adjoining the new tax commission office.
