Commission fires Renshaw

by Linda Erbele White County News   The White County Commission, after a 1-1/2 hour long – and reportedly difficult – executive session, returned to open meeting and voted to end the term of employment for County Manager Mike Renshaw, effective April 11.

60-year tradition continues in tourney

by Jessica Wood White County News   Long before Helen’s annual Trout Tournament came to fruition, a man named A.W. (Arnold Woodrow) Locklear started a tradition for three families that would span over six decades and four generations.

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   The White County Board of Education hired new principals for Mt. Yonah Elementary and Tesnatee Gap Elementary, and also hired new directors for Warrior Academy and the system’s finance department Thursday night. All hires are effective next school year.

City closes to honor passing of Public Works Director Hunt

by Linda Erbele White County News   The City of Cleveland lost a giant with the death of long-time Public Works Director Donald Hunt. An active employee with the city at 87 years old, Hunt passed away March 27, 2023. Long-time former mayor Don Stanley described Hunt as a fine Christian man.
