Candidate qualifying set to begin

The candidate qualifying period is next week for anyone wanting to run for the White County Board of Commissioners and White County Board of Education. Qualifying will be held Monday, March 7, through Friday, March 11.

Woodlands expansion expected to allow 3,000 additional campers

Woodlands Camp in Cleveland marked its latest plan for expansion March 1 by breaking ground on a site that will host new cabins for youth. Camp staff and members of the community gathered to celebrate the addition to the camp that will allow it to host more kids.

United Way gives $75,000 to service organizations

The United Way of White County awarded $75,000 in financial contributions to 14 community service groups at an allocation presentation Feb. 24 at United Community Bank’s Roy Ash Community Room.

Kemp makes his case

Gov. Brian Kemp brought his re-election campaign to Cleveland last Friday, one of several stops during his Northeast Georgia tour. The crowd of residents and elected officials at Feb. 18 meet-and-greet at the Roy Ash Community Room listened as the governor made his case for another term.
