White County’s rate of COVID-19 cases hit a record mark last week, as more testing opportunities have become available. The county’s seven-day moving average of confirmed cases was at 27 cases per day, according to a Jan. 18 update from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

First Rabies case confirmed in White County for 2022

A rabid skunk in the Walking Horse Lane area is the 1st confirmed rabies case in White County for 2022. According to Sean Sullivan, White County Environmental Health Manager, on Wednesday, Jan. 7, a dog owner found a skunk in his driveway after he heard his dog barking.
