Ravan joins brother, six percent as newest Eagle Scout

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   Troop 140’s newest Eagle Scout improved a project his brother completed just two years ago. Trenton Ravan earned the highest rank in Boy Scouts of America Jan. 5, and was recognized at an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony Saturday.

Fire destroys Cleveland home

Both White County Fire Services and Cleveland Fire Department responded to a call about a residential fire on Hiawatha Hills Road in Cleveland Saturday shortly before 9 p.m. Once on the scene, firefighters reported a fully involved mobile home.

GBI makes arrest in attempted murder-for-hire

The GBI arrested a Cleveland man for criminal solicitation in an attempted murder-for-hire case.  Freddie Warthen, 31 of Cleveland, was arrested Jan. 6, and also charged with home invasion and aggravated assault in a separate incident in White County.
