by Linda Erbele White County News   The past year has brought many new faces to leadership positions in White County. County manager Mike Renshaw began work on July 11, having worked in county administration positions both in Georgia and Colorado.

Every year, National Jr. Beta Club has its Georgia state convention in Savannah the week after Thanksgiving. White County Middle School took 42 members, and brought home nine awards, qualifying students for the national convention.

Flooding fix gets approval

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   The White County Board of Education decided to spend $300,000 from Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax -- or ESPLOST -- funds to fix drainage issues on the practice fields at White County High School.

by Linda Erbele White County News   Helen City Manager Jerry Elkins will retire after 46 years of public service Dec. 29, 2022. He came to North Georgia 23 years ago from the City of Locust Grove, where he had already spent 23 years as city councilman, mayor and finally city manager.

A Cleveland man was arrested by Cleveland Police in connection with an assault early Sunday, Dec. 4. Jeread David Grizzle, 35, remains in the White County Detention Center without bond as of Tuesday, Dec. 13. According to a release from CPD, officers were called to 223 Bryant Street at 1:15 a.m.
