White County High School is mourning the loss of one of their own after Ethan McCallister, a 2011 graduate, was killed early Saturday morning in Atlanta. McCallister, who was 28 at the time of his death, was killed in a hit-and-run accident in the Lindbergh area of Buckhead.

It was a clean sweep for the White County High School track teams at the 2021 Mt. Yonah Invitational last Friday at Warrior Stadium. The host school dominated the meet, winning both the boys and girl's divisions.

Warriors earn first state spot since 2014

For the first time since 2014, the White County Warriors are headed to the state baseball playoffs. The Warriors clinched a spot in the Class AAA playoffs with a 7-3 win over West Hall Tuesday in Cleveland.

The White County Lady Warriors' soccer team knocked off North Hall 3-0 in the 7-AAA region finale Tuesday night in Gainesville, and now the head coach Megan Runkle and the squad has to wait a couple of weeks to find out their fate heading into the Class AAA tournament.

After spending 15 years as a middle school teacher, coach and administrator, Lloyd Collins was looking for a new challenge. Collins, who has been the White County Middle School athletic director for the past three years, found a new job just a few miles up the road.
