An incident involving a rabid skunk in the Albert Reid area is the fourth confirmed rabies case in White County for 2020. According to White County Environmental Health Manager Sean Sullivan, in the early morning on Monday, March 9, homeowners noticed their house smelled of skunk when they woke up.

An incident involving a rabid raccoon in the area of Stovall Road is the second rabies case in White County for 2020. According to White County Environmental Health Manager Sean Sullivan, a pet owner said his two dogs dropped a dead raccoon on their driveway when they came back from roaming.

A recent incident on Paradise Valley Road is White County’s first confirmed case of rabies in 2019. On Saturday, Aug. 10, homeowners alerted by barking outside found a skunk chasing their dog in its kennel, according to White County Environmental Health Manager Sean Sullivan.
