White County is officially a certified Georgia Broadband Ready Community. The certificate was presented during the Oct. 4 meeting of the White County Board of Commissioners by Georgia Department of Community Affairs Region 2 Representative Kathy Papa.

Lady Warriors third at Asics race; Mountain Invitational postponed

The White County High School cross country teams took part in a huge meet last weekend in Fairburn, competing in the Alexander/Asics Invitational. The meet, held at Chattahoochee Hills, featured 17 high school races and a college division race. The WCHS teams competed in the Class 1-3A division.

A Lawrenceville man has been charged in regards to an attempted home invasion following an incident at Smithgall Woods State Park. According to a press release from White County Sheriff's Office Captain Clay Hammond, on Sept. 25, WCSO responded to a call about an assault.

WCHS sweeps final two area matches

White County finished up the Area 7-AAA regular season schedule Tuesday night in Cleveland, sweeping Gilmer County and East Forsyth. The Lady Warriors are 13-9 overall this season, and have a 4-3 record in area play.

Warriors fall on late field goal, 31-28
