10U girls basketball team wins GRPA title

White County is the new home of a  Georgia Recreation Parks Association's Class C state champion. Last weekend in Evans County, the Lady Warriors' 10U team went 4-0 to capture the state title.

Coahulla Creek's second half surge ends Lady Warriors' season, 64-60

With a second straight trip to the Sweet 16 hanging in the balance, the White County Lady Warriors couldn't get past No. 8 Coahulla Creek Tuesday night in the opening round of the Class AAA state tournament, falling 64-60.

Lady Warriors third; Futch named Region POY

The White County Lady Warriors went into the Region 7-AAA tournament last week with hopes of putting a region title on their resume, but Gilmer County had other plans.

Chasing history

Over the next few weeks, the White County High School basketball teams have a chance to do some special things, beginning with the Region 7-AAA tournament. Both of the WCHS teams will be in action Saturday, hoping to take the first step in what could be a very memorable postseason run.

TMU sweeps conference tilt wth Bluefield

Truett McConnell swept a pair of Appalachian Athletic Conference games Tuesday night in Cleveland. The Bears built a big lead in the opening half, and then had to hang on down the stretch to pick up an 88-85 win over Bluefield College.

Heading into the regular season finale Friday night, the White County High School basketball teams have a chance to do something this year that's never been done before in the history of the program – be the No. 1 seeds heading into the region tournament.

Lady Warriors rally, stay in front of region race

At the start of the high school basketball season, White County and Lumpkin County looked to be the top two contenders for the 7-AAA girl's title.. Unless something unexpected happens over the next nine days, that's how the region regular season race will play out.

Lady Warrior squad wins Mountain championship

For a group of White County Middle School girls, the last two years have been nothing short of perfection on the basketball court. The White County Middle School eighth-grade girl's team wrapped up an unbeaten season last Friday in Jasper, winning the Mountain Athletic Conference championship.

Lady Warriors blast Dawson, Gilmer

by Mark Turner White County News   S ince starting the season at 1-5, the White County Lady Warriors have seemingly improved every time they've stepped on the court, and are playing the best basketball of the season heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
