The 9th Annual Dropping of the Edelweiss will take place in Alpine Helen on Friday, Dec. 31. This event is hosted by the Helen Chamber of Commerce at the Helen Festhalle and offers a family-friendly New Year’s celebration for guests of all ages.

The rate of new COVID-19 infections in White County has risen over the past month, while Georgia experienced a spike in cases over the recent holiday weekend as the Omicron variant continues to spread. The county’s seven-day moving average of confirmed cases was at 7.
