White County has seen a decrease in COVID-19 numbers, following a slight increase, as officials continue to promote vaccine availability throughout the community. The Georgia Department of Public Health’s May 18 status report showed the average at 0.9 daily cases at that time, down from 1.

A call will go out using the emergency notification system beginning Monday, May 17, in regards to the coronavirus vaccine. According to White County Public Safety Director David Murphy, this will happen in partnership with the White County Health Department and White County Emergency Management.
