Allen returning to WCMS as principal

A familiar face will be returning to the halls of White County Middle School. The White County Board of Education has approved hiring Nara Allen as the school’s new principal, effective July 1, 2021. Current principal Kristi Gerrells is retiring in June. “It is very exciting,” Allen said.

Teachers, staff get surprise ‘thank you’

White County teachers and staff members were treated to a special surprise last Friday by the school system. It was long-known that Gov.
White County 4-H will hold its annual rabies clinic on two Saturdays, April 24 and May 1, from 1-4 p.m. at the Cleveland Veterinary Hospital on U.S. 129 S. across from Wendy’s.

UPDATE: Due to storms predicted for Saturday, April 24, the clinic scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed until further notice. The one on May 1 is still scheduled to take place.  White County 4-H will hold its annual rabies clinic on two Saturdays, April 24 and May 1, from 1-4 p.m.

The White County Grand Jury returned 44 true bill indictments last week, which included some defendants facing child molestation charges. During the proceedings from April 12-14, the grand jury indicted 52 people.

Meet the Addams Family

Gateway Theatre Company will hold performances of The Addams Family April 22-25 and April 29 through May 2 at White County High School. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on April 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and May 1, and 2:30 p.m. on April 25 and May 2. Tickets can be purchased at gatewaytheatre.ludus.com.
