White County’s seven-day moving average of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose slightly over the past week. The Georgia Department of Public Health’s March 30 status report showed an average of three daily cases as of March 30, up from 1.7 on March 23. Recently figures include 1.4 on March 16 and 0.

Vietnam War veterans honored at Freedom Park

Community members gathered at Freedom Park in Cleveland on Saturday to honor Americans who served in the Vietnam War.

Downpour downer

Heavy rains throughout last Thursday night and early Friday morning caused plenty of property-related troubles but reportedly no injuries in White County, even as crews conducted a river rescue.

The 2021 Helen Trout Tournament has been postponed  to April 3 due high water from the recent storms. It was originally scheduled for this Saturday, March 27. According to a press release from the Greater Helen Area Chamber of Commerce, the Festhalle will be open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Warrior track teams compete at GAC Invitational

The White County High School track teams competed against some big schools at the Greater Atlanta Christian Invitational last Saturday in Norcross. The Warriors finished fourth among eight teams in the boy's division, while the Lady Warriors were fourth among nine teams in the girl's division.
