No injuries reported in Monday house fire

There were no injuries reported in a house fire on Monday, April 12.  According to White County Public Safety Director David Murphy, White County Fire Services, along with the Cleveland Fire Department and Lee Arrendale Fire Brigade, responded to a residence on U.S.

Three vehicles were involved in an accident on Saturday, April 10, on Hwy. 75 near Trey Mountain Road. According to the accident report from Georgia State Patrol, a 2008 Jeep Liberty driven by Freddie White, 81, of Oxford, was negotiating a curve to the right while heading north on Hwy. 75.

A Cleveland man died in a single-vehicle wreck on Saturday, April 10. According to a Georgia State Patrol accident report, William Scott Bentley, 69, was heading south on Ga. 75 (Helen Highway) in a 2005 GMC Sierra.

White County has some new Emergency Medical Responders (EMR). On April 7, firefighters from White County graduated as emergency medical responders, according to White County Public Safety Director David Murphy.

White County’s seven-day moving average of confirmed COVID-19 cases dropped over the past week. The Georgia Department of Public Health’s April 6 status report showed the average at 1.6 daily cases at that time, down from 3 on March 30. Recently figures include 1.7 on March 23 and 1.4 on March 16.
