In an unprecedented move, Georgia will undertake a hand recount of the nearly 5 million ballots cast in the 2020 presidential election with roughly 14,000 votes separating President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced Wednesday.
Recent growth in White County sales tax collections was bolstered with roughly more than $600,000 in additional receipts for September due to a recent state audit.

There have been 1,055 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in White County since the start of the pandemic, according to the update on Sunday, Nov. 8, on the Georgia Department of Public Health's website.
White County has had over 1,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
