Ferguson wins probate runoff

Longtime lawyer Don Ferguson will be White County’s next probate judge, Victor Anderson won the Republican runoff for State House District 10 and Andrew Clyde and Devin Pandy will square off in a November congressional race. That’s according to unofficial results from the Aug.

A propane gas leak Monday afternoon on Holiness Campground Road led to the evacuation call for residents in the area. Around 1 p.m. Aug. 10, White County 911 received a call reporting the leak at 690 Holiness Campground Road (the address for Georgia Mountain Gas).

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is investigating the death of an inmate at the White County Detention Center. According to  White County Sheriff's Office Captain Clay Hammond, on Friday, Aug.
There have been 353 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in White County since the start of the pandemic, according to the update  on Monday, Aug. 10, on the Georgia Department of Public Health's website.
