Justus retiring to head Lakeview

by Samantha Sinclair White County News Scott Justus is heading back to Hall County. Just a day prior to the White County Board of Education’s approval of his retirement, Justus was announced as the new middle school director for Lakeview Academy in Gainesville.

by Samantha Sinclair White County News It was the largest crowd ever for White County’s Vietnam War Veterans Day Ceremony on Saturday. Northeast Georgia Veterans Society President Ron Webb said 52 programs had been printed for the event, and they ran out.

Library gets $3 million for new building

by Samantha Sinclair White County News Rebecca Carfizzi was eating lunch at Cafe International one summer day when she decided to take a photo of a couple tubing on the Chattahoochee River that runs beside the restaurant. She said it was a wonderful day when she took that photo.

During their meeting and work session on March 25, the White County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve an appeal process for the short-term rental subdivision map.

by Eric Tiongson White County News After a brief hiatus, sightings of Bigfoot have shot up over the past few weeks. Well, kind of. The famous Bigfoot sculpture outside of Helen Hat Company has been replaced, by a newer, larger wooden Sasquatch.
