Warriors' work heats up during final days of July

Watkins to attend NCAA Academy

Staff report   White County High School's Kylie Watkins has earned an invitation to the 2023 NCAA College Basketball Academy. The College Basketball Academy for women will be July 28-31 in Memphis, Tenn.

Game time: Lady Warriors kick off summer league schedule

by Mark Turner White County News   In four weeks, the White County Lady Warriors will step on the field to begin the 2023 high school softball season. After getting a few days last week thanks to the Georgia High School Association's mandated dead week, the Lady Warriors got back this week.

Philyaw camp draws big group

Staff report   The third annual Brayden Philyaw Swift Feet & Agility Camp recently took place at the Tesnatee Gap Sports Complex. The annual event is part of the Brayden Philyaw Athletic Scholarship Fund. Philyaw, the son of Zach and Miranda Philyaw, passed away in 2019.

Fall teams ready to work after Dead Week

by Mark Turner White County News   With a heat wave moving into most of the state later this week, it's probably a good time for the Georgia High School Association's mandated Dead Week, which will shut down all high school sports from Monday, July 3 through Sunday, July 9.
