Season begins for WCRD teams

Staff report   It's time for the White County Recreation Department youth football teams to hit the field for the 2021 season. The Mountain Athletic Conference season kicked off Tuesday, with a pair of White County teams in action. The full compliment of games start on Sat. 11.

Warriors to face Habersham Central

The White County High School Warriors football team gets a chance to play at home again this week as Habersham Central makes the short trip to Cleveland to renew the neighborhood rivalry.

Bulldogs run past Warriors

The White County Warriors grabbed a 6-0 lead in the first three minutes of the 2021 home opener last Friday night, but things quickly went downhill as Hart County used a bruising running attack to fuel a 49-13 win.

Lady Warriors get region wins

After suffering their first loss of the season last week, the White County softball team, ranked No. 5 in the latest Class AAA state poll, bounced back with a pair of wins to get back on the winning track.

Lady Warriors split with Lumpkin, Stephens

The White County Lady Warriors split a pair of matches last week in Cleveland. The Lady Warriors dropped the opening match to Lumpkin County in three sets, but bounced back to knock off Stephens County in the straight sets.

WCHS teams race for state meet in Carrollton
