Remembering Joey Kastner

by Wayne Hardy and Stephanie Hill   Joey Kastner is being remembered for the impact he made as a professional, coach, friend and family man. Kastner, White County’s animal control division chief, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, after a reported battle with COVID-19. He was 36.

Warrior JV, ninth grade, WCMS teams post wins

The White County High School sub-varsity teams both picked up wins over the past two weeks. The Warriors' junior varsity squad started things off with a 26-14 win over Habersham Central on Sept. 10.

WC runs at Warpath

The White County cross country teams competed in the Warpath Invitational Saturday in Canton, along with more than 30 teams from around the northern half of the state. The Lady Warriors finished 16th in the girl's varsity division, while the Warriors were 25th among the boy's teams.

WCHS splits region games

With just two weeks left in the regular season schedule, the White County Lady Warriors' team split a pair of Region 7-AAA games with Dawson County and North Hall.

WCMS second at league tourney

The White County Middle School volleyball team brought home the runner-up trophy last Saturday at the North Georgia Mountain League Tournament in Dahlonega. The Lady Warriors knocked off Lumpkin County 2-0 in the tournament semifinals, but fell to Fannin County 2-0 in the championship match.
