MCES principal to fill central office position

Mossy Creek Elementary School Principal Allison Funk will become the White County School System’s director of student accountability and elementary curriculum. The White County Board of Education approved the personnel change at the March 21 called meeting.

Young players look to rebuild Warrior squads

The high school golf season is in full swing for the White County High School squads. The golf program has had some big time highlights over the past decade on both the girls and boys side, capped off last spring with the Lady Warriors winning the Class AAA title.

A historic season came to an end last weekend for the White County Warriors' basketball team. The Warriors (18-12) suffered a heartbreaking 57-52 loss last Saturday to Beach in the second round of the Class AAA state tournament.

Anthony Johnson has been named White County High School’s STAR student for the Class of 2022, choosing Kalin Kennedy as STAR teacher. The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) award is a recognition by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators.

Lady Warriors' season ends

When you are playing on the road in the first round of the state tournament against a Top 10 opponent, the last thing you want to do is get off to a slow start. That's what happened to the White County Lady Warriors Tuesday night in Norcross in the opening round of the Class AAA playoffs.
