In-person early voting for the Aug. 11 primary runoff elections is underway. The only local runoff race is on the Republican ballot, between Don Ferguson and Carol Jackson for probate judge. There are no Democratic candidates in the race.

Pets of the week for the week of July 20 from Charles Smithgall Humane Society. Andy is a gorgeous German shepherd mix. He’s 10 months old and weighs 65 lbs. Andy wasn’t treated well and he still bears some scares. He loves people, but he’s cautious at first.
