With the start of a new month, White County has seen over 300 confirmed COVID-19 cases during the pandemic. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, as of Tuesday, Aug. 4, White County has 308 confirmed cases.

Decision time arrives for runoff elections

Voters will head to the polls next week to choose White County’s next probate judge and decide winners in state and congressional primaries. The runoff election is set for Tuesday, Aug. 11. Voting will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at polling places throughout the county.

UPDATE: As of 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, the boil water notice has been lifted. The City of Cleveland issued a boil water notice on Monday, Aug. 3, due to a water main break at the Thunder Ridge Road Subdivision, Hwy 115 East of Cleveland.
There have been 302 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in White County since the start of the pandemic, according to the update on Monday, Aug. 3, on the Georgia Department of Public Health's website.

There have been 302 total confirmed COVID-19 cases in White County since the start of the pandemic, according to the update on Monday, Aug. 3, on the Georgia Department of Public Health's website. In White County there have been 52 hospitalizations and five deaths attributed to COVID-19.

Pets of the week for the week of Aug. 3 from Charles Smithgall Humane Society and White County Animal Control. Pete is a six-year-old plott hound/boxer mix, weighing 50 pounds. He’s sweet, fun and silly. He walks well on a leash and enjoys being out.
