An incident involving a rabid skunk in the area of Helen Highway (Cleveland end) is the third rabies case in White County for 2020. According to White County Environmental Health Manager Sean Sullivan, earlier this week home owners heard a commotion in their backyard when they came home.
The White County Board of Education approved calendars for the next two school years at its meeting on Thursday, Feb. 27.

The White County Board of Education approved calendars for the next two school years at its meeting on Thursday, Feb. 27. The school board approved Option 1, which has short breaks in October and February, said White County School System Superintendent Dr. Laurie Burkett.

A newly renovated addition to downtown Cleveland is open, which will eventually be home to three businesses. The Cleveland Drug Plaza on West Kytle Street, owned by local businessman Ray Black, welcomed Nate’s Barbershop as its first occupant March 2.

by Beau Evans Staff Writer Capitol Beat News Service Coronavirus has come to Georgia. Gov. Brian Kemp and state health officials confirmed the first cases of coronavirus in Georgia late Monday night. Two people in Fulton County contracted the virus after one of them traveled to Italy.
