The work, which is being done by Woody Davis, is scheduled to start Monday, Jan. 13, with plans to possibly be completed by WinterFest Arts & Coach Tour, which is Feb.

New mayor to be elected in March

Cleveland has set a special election to select a new mayor, following the recent resignation of Shan Ash.
The special election will be Tuesday, March 24, as approved by the Cleveland City Council at its Monday, Jan. 6, meeting. Voting will take place that day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Unemployment in White County hit what appears to be one of its lowest rates in recent history, according to preliminary November figures from the Georgia Department of Labor.
The county’s 2% unemployment rate continued a downward trend through 2019, which began at 3.8%.
