The 2019 Community Job Fair is scheduled for 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in the George Blaurock Student Wellness Center at Truett McConnell University. (100 Alumni Drive in Cleveland). Guests are invited to bring a résumé and meeting job fair attendees. Two workshops are also planned: 3:15 p.m.

Historical committee sets open house

A county historic overlay committee will hold a third, possibly final, open house next month related to historic preservation planning. The public discussion is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Union Grove Campground (301 Amen Drive, Building 400, in Cleveland).

James Dennis McCormick, 27, of Lawrenceville, has been identified as the suspect in the alleged attempted armed robbery of Taco Bell in Cleveland late last night. In a press statement, Cleveland Police Chief John Foster said a call came in about 11:58 p.m. about an armed robbery.

Truett McConnell University will be holding an active shooter drill Friday, Oct. 18. The exercise is expected to run from around 1-3 p.m. A sign will be posted notifying those passing by the campus that the activity is a drill and not an actual emergency.

UPDATE: The boil water notice has been lifted as of Saturday, Oct. 19, according to the City of Cleveland. The City of Cleveland issued a boil water notice Friday morning related to a 6-inch water main break.
