Fire levels home on Starlight

White County and Helen firefighters responded Wednesday, Feb. 22 to a report of a fire at a home on Starlight Drive in Sautee Nacoochee. The first units to arrive reported that the home was fully involved and confirmed that it was unoccupied.

by Mark Turner White County News   White County High School’s Ollie Weiland captured a state championship Saturday afternoon, winning the 105-pound division at the Georgia High School Association All-Classification Girls state tournament in Macon.

State of Tourism: Visitor spending jumps, helps locals

by Samantha Sinclair White County News   Visitor spending in 2021 increased 50 percent over the prior year to $229.5 million in White County. That spending generated $17.9 million in state and local taxes, benefiting locals with $1,529 in tax savings for every household.
