With the coronavirus pandemic still looming and early voting scheduled to start next month, election officials are encouraging residents to take advantage of absentee ballots.

White County introduced Seth Weaver as its new fire chief this week, while giving a retirement sendoff to two of its fire service veterans. Weaver was ceremonially pinned as the new chief at an event Monday, April 27, in the county’s emergency operations center.
White County government will be reopening some of its outdoor recreational areas and resuming regular work hours for its employees as officials try to gradually return from changes implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
