TMU celebrates past and path ahead

New K9s, deputies join WCSO

The White County Sheriff’s Office recently added a pair of four-legged members – and their deputies. Deputy Erin Thomas, with K9 Henzo, and deputy John Thomas, with K9 Skuter, give the WCSO a dual-purpose K9 teams. Henzo is a 6-year-old Belgian Shepherd, and Skuter is a 4-year-old German Shepherd.

Falconry Academy in August

Georgia Mountain Falconry will hold the 5th annual Apprentice Academy this summer in Helen. Falconry is the sport of hunting with falcons or other birds of prey, and the keeping and training of such birds.

WCHS cross country teams running toward the start of the 2021 season

With the weather warming up, it means it's almost time for the start of the high school cross country season. The White County High School runners have been putting in some mileage this summer, getting ready for the start of the new season.
