Early voting to resume

Early in-person voting is set to start next week, but election officials have already been busy with absentee ballot activity. White County Chief Registrar Lisa Manning said that 5,867 absentee ballots had been mailed and voters had returned 1,479 as of Monday, May 11.

The City of Cleveland City Council will hold its regularly scheduled Council Meeting on Monday, May 11, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.  Due to the city’s response to COVID-19 – this meeting will be held by teleconference. The public is welcome to join the teleconference.

State Public Health reports first COVID-19 death in White County

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting that White County has had its first confirmed death attributed to COVID-19, according to the 9:25 a.m. update Tuesday, May 5, on the state Public Health website. The deceased was a 95-year-old woman with "chronic conditions," according to DPH.
