Warriors get first region win

by Mark Turner White County News   It's been a tough season for the White County Warriors, but Tuesday night proved to be one of the best moments of the season as the Warrior knocked off Wesleyan 49-35 for their first Region 7-AAA win of the season.

Championship run

by Mark Turner White County News   A pair of White County Middle School basketball teams are one win away from winning a North Georgia Mountain League title. Both of the seventh grade teams moved into the championship round with wins last week.

WCMS teams chase league titles

Staff report   The White County Middle School seventh grade basketball teams are both in the hunt for North Georgia Mountain League titles as the post-season tournament tipped off this week. The tournament began Wednesday, with both of the WCMS teams hosting semifinal matchups.

by Mark Turner White County News   The cold weather caused some issues with the White County High School basketball schedule this week, delaying a Region 7-AAA matchup with Lumpkin County.

Spring sports on deck

by Mark Turner White County News   It's the coldest week of the year, so that can only mean one thing - spring sports are just around the corner. In less than a month, several sports will begin the 2024 season. The spring sports season starts early in the year for schools in Georgia.

Wrestlers compete at holiday events

by Mark Turner White County News   The White County High School wrestling teams got in some mat work during the final weekend of 2023. The WCHS boy's squad competed in the Hook'Em Holiday Clash at Lambert High School, while a girl's trio participated in the Gilmer Bobcat Clash.
