Warrior trio wins area titles; Sullens wrestles for state championship tonight

White County High School senior Devin Sullens can add a state title to his resume Feb. 11 in Macon. Sullens, a two-time state runner-up, will lock up with Gilmer County's Dylan Galloway in the 220-pound division championship match at the Class AAA tournament at the Macon Centreplex.

JV teams finish season with wins

The White County junior varsity basketball teams recently wrapped up the season, with the Lady Warriors winning a pair of games while the Warriors split their final two games. The Lady Warriors knocked off Dawson County 47-40.

Bears notch 14-10 victory

The Truett McConnell University baseball team opened their 2021 season Tuesday afternoon at the TMU Baseball Complex, posting a 14-10 win over Toccoa Falls College. The Bears got things going early, leading 9-4 heading into the fifth inning.

TMU sweeps conference tilt wth Bluefield

Truett McConnell swept a pair of Appalachian Athletic Conference games Tuesday night in Cleveland. The Bears built a big lead in the opening half, and then had to hang on down the stretch to pick up an 88-85 win over Bluefield College.

Spring is sprung for soccer, baseball teams

With the temperature expected to stay below 50 degrees for the next few weeks, it doesn't feel like it's time for spring sports to kick off for the White County high school and middle school athletes.

Warriors set to battle for 7-AAA honors

The most important week of the season has arrived for the White County wrestling team. On Saturday, the Warriors head to Dahlonega for the Area 7-AAA traditional tournament.

Lady Warriors rally, stay in front of region race

At the start of the high school basketball season, White County and Lumpkin County looked to be the top two contenders for the 7-AAA girl's title.. Unless something unexpected happens over the next nine days, that's how the region regular season race will play out.

Warriors gut out win, take control of region

TheWhite County Warriors took a huge step toward the 7-AAA regular season title Tuesday night, knocking off Cherokee Bluff 53-46 to take over the top spot in the region season standings heading into the final week of the schedule.
