The White County Warriors are in the market for a new basketball coach. Wade Mawdesley stepped down from the head coaching job last week, after spending the last two years in charge of the program.
When the White County High School baseball team walked off the field March 11 following a 4-0 win over West Hall in the 7-AAAA opener, the players and coaches had no idea it might be the last time they stepped on the field this season.

It will be at least two more months before a pair of elections set for next week will be decided. Cleveland’s special election for mayor and the Georgia Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) have been delayed from March 24 to May 19.

Local public safety agencies are adding steps to protect personnel during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Cleveland Police Chief John Foster told officers at a March 16 gathering about precautions they can take to protect themselves from being exposed to the virus.

Students won’t be returning to White County Schools until April. On Monday, Gov. Brian Kemp ordered all public k-12 schools and colleges to remain closed through March 31 to prevent further spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
