Warriors sweep non-region doubleheader

The White County Warriors got a pair of wins last Saturday, taking advantage of a few dry days so far this season. The Warriors hosted Johnson and Riverside in a three-game series, with each team playing twice during the day-long affair.

WC track athletes excel at the Bluff

The White County track team got the 2020 season started last week with a three-team meet at Cherokee Bluff High School, The Warriors competed with the Bears and Jackson County, turning in several top performances in the girls and boys divisions.

WCRD teams earn state bids

A pair of White County Recreation Department youth basketball teams are set to play this weekend in the Georgia Recreation and Park Association's Class C State tournament. The county's two 8U All-Star teams earned spots in the state tournament during the District 7 tournaments in late January.

Warriors win, finish second

The White County Warriors came close to capturing their second consecutive Crown Mountain Cup title, posting a 2-0-1 record during the week-long event. The Warriors and West Hall both finished the tournament with identical records, and played to a 3-3 draw in the opening round.

Truett McConnell wins NFCA Leadoff Classic

The Truett McConnell softball team had a stellar performance weekend at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Leadoff Classic. The Lady Bears, ranked No. 14 in the latest NAIA national poll posted a 4-1 record to earn the tournament title, which featured three other teams ranked in the Top 20.
