Fred brings flooding, other damage to White County

Tropical Storm Fred brought flooding to many areas in White County on Tuesday, Aug. 17. White County officials, the city of Cleveland, and city of Helen, were busy most of Tuesday with storm-related issues.

No serious injuries reported in Aug. 13 wreck

No serious injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on Friday, Aug. 13, that involved a semi-truck and car. The accident occurred on U.S. 129 South near the intersection of Truelove Road when a 2009 Honda Civic driven by Jordan Alexander, 21, of Cleveland, was heading north on U.S. 129.

Lady Warriors reload for state run

Lady Warriors start season with four wins

The first week of the 2021 high school softball season couldn't have worked out much better for the White County Lady Warriors. WCHS opened the season with four straight wins, including a 5-1 win over Habersham Central Monday afternoon in Cleveland.

Warriors set for scrimmage

After two months of summer workouts, passing league games, practice sessions, acclimation practices, and a week of padded work, the White County Warriors get a chance Friday night to play against some guys in different color uniforms.

Smithgall Rescue Re-Tail marks growth

School lunches to remain free, but parents asked to fill out application

School lunches are free again this year for all students, but filling out free and reduced lunch applications can aid students in other areas.
