A downtown Cleveland businessman recently proposed an option to add parking spaces on the square. Ward Gann, owner of Clyde’s Table & Tavern and other downtown property, spoke at the Cleveland City Council April 5 and shared his concern about parking on the square as it continues to grow.

For the first time since 2014, the White County Warriors are headed to the state baseball playoffs. The Warriors clinched a spot in the Class AAA playoffs with a 7-3 win over West Hall Tuesday in Cleveland.

A two-vehicle accident on Monday, April 5, claimed the life of a Sautee Nacoochee man. Carl Leinenweber, 57, was driving a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Ga. 75, while David Cratty, 38, also of Sautee Nacoochee, was in a 2016 Chevrolet Express van stopped on Ga.

There were no injuries reported in a Lothridge Road residential fire Thursday night. White County Fire Services, the Cleveland Fire Department and Lee Arrendale Fire Brigade responded to the April 1 call around 11:30 p.m., said White County Public Safety Director David Murphy.
