Smith steps down

After a four straight trips to the state tournament, the White County Lady Warrior volleyball program is looking for a new head coach. Shannon Smith announced this week she is stepping down after four years.

Lady Warriors earn state bid

If it's November, it's time for the White County girl's cross country team to hop on a bus and head to Carrollton. The Lady Warriors earned their annual trip to the GHSA State Cross Country Championships with a second place finish at the Region 7-AAA meet last week at Unicoi State Park.

Turf coming to WCHS

A big change is coming to Warrior Stadium. White County Board of Education approved a plan last week to replace the the stadium's grass field with artificial turf. The project is set to begin late February, 2022.

WCHS Marching Band earns superior ratings

On Oct. 23 the White County High School Marching Band performed their show  “1985” in the annual Hurricane Classic Marching Band Competition hosted by Monroe Area High School in Monroe. This was their second competition of the year.

Warriors keep pace in playoff hunt

With just a couple of games left on the regular season schedule, every game is a must-win for the White County Warriors in the race for a state playoff spot. The Warriors (3-5) answered the bell last Friday, posting a 49-13 win over Lumpkin County.

It was a beautiful day for run Tuesday  as hundreds of middle school and high school cross country athletes gathered at Unicoi State Park for the annual Yonah Invitational.

For the fourth consecutive year, the White County High School volleyball team is headed to the state tournament. The Lady Warriors clinched a spot in the Class AAA tournament last week at the Area 7-AAA tournament at North Hall, finishing fourth.

The White County Warriors are still looking for their first Region 7-AAA win of the season after dropping a 51-20 decision last Friday night to North Hall.

7-AAA tourney under way

The White County volleyball team will find out it's state playoff fate today at the Area 7-AAA tournament at North Hall High School. The Lady Warriors need to finish in the Top 4 during the area tournament in order to earn a spot in the Class AAA state tournament.
