Pets of the week for the week of March 30 from White County Animal Control and Charles Smithgall Humane Society. At White County Animal Control, Bree is a 4-year-old female Boxer/Plott hound. Her favorite thing is to get belly rubs and scratches from any person, as long as they'll keep going!

White County fourth among region schools in GADA Cup

With springs sports currently shutdown because of the COVID-19 outbreak, the White County High School athletic program currently sets in 26th place in the Georgia Athletic Director's Association's Director's Cup among all Class AAAA programs through the fall and winter seasons.

For more than 30 years, White  County High School head baseball coach Jim Waits has spent thousands of hours each spring and summer on the baseball field. As a longtime college and high school coach, Waits has spent endless hours practicing with his team, working on the field, coaching games.

White County Schools to remain closed into April

School closure update On Thursday, March 26, Gov. Brian Kemp extended public school closures through April 24. More information on that can be found here. Students will not be returning to White County Schools until at least April 13.
