Helen Arts & Heritage Center closing for renovations and theater addition

The Helen Arts & Heritage Center will be closed during January for renovations to the history museum. The work, which is being done by Woody Davis, is scheduled to start Monday, Jan. 13, with plans to possibly be completed by WinterFest Arts & Coach Tour, which is Feb.

Edelweiss Drop kicks off new year

Have you ever seen an edelweiss drop? Well, now you can on New Year’s Eve at the seventh annual Dropping of the Edelweiss at the Helen Festhalle. This family-friendly event starts at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, said Renee Green, Chamber executive director.

Electric car rental business gets clearance from Helen commission

An electric car rental business could be coming to Helen. At its Dec. 10 meeting, the Helen City Commission approved a request by Adrian Diaconu to have a booth and a sign for the rental operation, located in a pay-to-park lot at 8717 North Main Street.

Film crew returns for new movie

Movie crews returned to White County this month to film another Christmas movie. Sunshine Films, the same company that filmed Christmas Love Letter in Helen earlier this year, came to the area for a second time.

City celebrates film with cast, community

Helen rolled out the red carpet this past weekend. At least it did for one night, Sunday, Dec. 15, for the premiere of the movie Christmas Love Letter, which was filmed in Helen earlier this year and will debut to a wider audience on Lifetime this Saturday, Dec. 21.
