The unofficial 2019 Helen and Cleveland municipal election results are as follows: Helen City Commission Jeff Ash: 103 Cinnamon Spurlock: 63 Fred Garmon: 73 A total of 135 voters cast ballots out of 518 registered voters.

Early voting for city elections starts Oct. 14

Monday, Oct. 7, is the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming municipal elections for Cleveland and Helen, with early voting starting the week after. There are several ways for residents to register, said White County Voter Registrar Lisa Manning.

Movie filmed here could boost visitation

A heartwarming holiday tale filmed in White County has an official premiere date – and an economic impact. Christmas Love Letter, filmed in Helen and the surrounding area earlier this year, will air on Lifetime on Saturday, Dec. 21.

Helen to replace playground equipment at Riverside park

The playground at Helen’s Riverside Park is getting an upgrade. Helen City Commissioners approved purchasing new playground equipment for the park. “We wanted to get as large of a facility as we could at Riverside Park, along with a couple of toddler swings,” said Helen City Manager Jerry Elkins.
